Research interests

Current research:In search of the referent: anaphor resolution in linear text and hypertext

Psycholinguistics / Language and Cognition

  • The time-course and nature of processes involved in discourse comprehension and production
    • using experimental methods such as ratings and judgements, reading time and reaction time, eye-movements, sentence completion, event related brain potentials (ERPs)
    • using information from written and spoken corpora in combination with experimental research
    • the mental representation of discourse and how it is influenced by discourse genre and text type such as hypertext
  • The use of different sorts of information in language comprehension and production
    • semantic-syntactic interface and argument structure
    • anaphor resolution (e.g. semantic and syntactic gender information)
    • information structure (e.g. prosodic information)
    • multimodal information processing
  • Incremental Optimization, Bidirectional OT (e.g. OT Semantics)
  • The relation between cognitive functions such as memory, prior knowledge, and attention in language processing and production
