Fees and Scholarships

VU University Amsterdam has various tuition fees, depending on whether you are EEA or non-EEA student. Countries within the EEA (European Economic Area) are all EU countries, and Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein. The tuition fee for EEA students is €1.713 per year (for academic year 2011-2012). The tuition fee for non-EEA students is €10.500 per year.  For more information, check here. Students from outside the EEA who are already staying in the Netherlands and have a visa for ‘stay with partner’ are eligible for the EEA tuition fee.

There are various scholarship possibilities for International Master’s students. For more information, check here. This link also included information about the VU Fellowship Programme, which is a scholarship offered by VU University Amsterdam itself. Only candidates of the highest achievement or motivation relevant to the programme are eligible. If you’re from an EEA country, you have the possibility to apply for a student loan for your tuition fee from the Dutch government. For more information, check here.
