Research profile

In the Faculty of Arts research is carried out in the following five areas:  

• Archaeology, Classics and near-Eastern Studies
• Art History and Cultural Studies
• History
• Language and Communication
• Literature

There are three interfaculty research institutes for which the Faculty of Arts is the secretariat and in which faculty researchers participate:

VISOR

The VU Graduate School of Humanities, which accommodates masters’ and doctoral courses, was started on 1 September 2008.
