Research profile
In the Faculty of Arts research is carried out in the following five areas:
- Archaeology, Classics and near-Eastern Studies
- Art History and Cultural Studies
- History
- Language and Communication
- Literature
There are three interfaculty research institutes for which the Faculty of Arts is the secretariat and in which faculty researchers participate:
The VU Graduate School of Humanities, since 1 September 2008, includes
- education for Master’s degrees in the Faculty of Arts (both general master’s and research master’s)
- the PhD programme in the Faculty of Arts
