Metaphor Lab kicks off highly demanded Winter School

PhD students and postdocs from all over the world will attend the 2012 Metaphor Lab Winter School in 'Metaphor identification and analysis', from 23 to 27 January 2012.

The Metaphor Lab received 68 applications – double the number of available spots  –  for the 2012 Metaphor Lab Winter School in 'Metaphor identification and analysis'. Applications came in from 26 different countries (Algeria, China, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Namibia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, UK, Ukraine, US). 33 students and postdocs will be participating in courses held between 23 and 27 January 2011.

Three courses are offered on linguistic metaphor, conceptual metaphor and metaphor in gesture. In addition, two guest lectures will be held, one on metaphor research in organization and management and one on cognitive psychology.
