Taalwetenschap (Ma)

Bij de master taalwetenschap kun je een programma volgen binnen theoretische of toegepaste taalwetenschap. In beide richtingen worden twee specialisaties aangeboden die aansluiten op het onderzoek dat door de staf van de leerstoelgebieden Theoretische taalwetenschap en Toegepaste taalwetenschap wordt verricht.

De masterspecialisatie Toegepaste Taalwetenschap-NT2  richt zich enerzijds op het onderwijs Nederlands als tweede taal en anderzijds op onderzoek naar (de effectiviteit van) tweede-taalonderwijs. Deze masterspecialisatie bestaat uit vier werkcolleges (samen 25 ec), een aantal workshops (5 ec), een stage (10 ec) en een scriptie (20 ec).

De masterspecialisatie Toegepaste Taalwetenschap-Taalleerstoornissen richt zich, in de vorm van onderwijs en onderzoek, op verschillende vormen van taalleerproblemen die in het Nederlandse onderwijs worden aangetroffen. Deze masterspecialisatie bestaat uit vijf werkcolleges (samen 30 ec), een stage (10 ec) en een scriptie (20 ec).

The aim of the specialization in Bible Translation, which is taught in English, is to prepare students for the role of linguistic consultant and linguistic researcher in bible translation organizations. This specialization has 3 parts. The first part (20 credits) contains general linguistic modules. The second part is a module of Translation Studies (10 credits). The third part contains modules offered by the Faculty of Theology (10 credits) in the fields of biblical languages, biblical theology and exegesis; the thesis, that should focus on a linguistics topic or on a linguistic aspect of translation or of biblical texts, concludes the program (20 credits).

The specialization in Language documentation: functional and typological perspectives is a broad master programme that emphasizes the interaction between linguistic theory and description of language in the tradition of functional and typological linguistics. This specialization has 3 parts. The first part (20 credits) contains general linguistic modules. The second part contains modules in field methods and descriptive linguistics (20 credits). The third part is a thesis (20 credits).
